Evaluation of the Seismic Capacity of Existing Moment Resisting Frames by a Simplified Approach: Examples and Numerical Application

چکیده
The capacity of a structure can be assessed using inelastic analysis, requiring sophisticated numerical procedures such as pushover and incremental dynamic analyses. A simplified method for the evaluation seismic performance steel moment resisting frames (MRFs) to used in everyday practice has been recently proposed. This evaluates buildings employing an analytical trilinear model without resorting any non−linear analysis. Despite methodologies suggested by codes, assessing procedure herein described is easy application, also hand calculation. Furthermore, it constitutes suitable tool check designed with new code prescriptions. proposed methodology set up through large parametric carried out on 420frames according three different approaches: theory plastic mechanism control (TPMC), ensuring design structures showing global collapse (GMRFs), one based Eurocode 8 requirements (SMRFs), simple against horizontal loads (OMRFs) specific requirements. In this paper, some examples application are references supposed exhibit global, partial soft storey mechanism.
